Ahoy, I’m Mark Frisch, better known as Sailor Mark. My Virgin Voyages story started aboard Valiant Lady in August 2024. Since then, I’ve sailed all four ships, spent 423 nights aboard and discovered that “one more cruise” can become a fairly serious commitment.

From Caribbean beach days and Alaska’s glaciers to Europe, Iceland and Greenland, I’ve collected plenty of reasons to keep exploring. But the people are why I keep coming back. Crew, performers, tattoo artists and fellow sailors have become friends I look forward to seeing again. Familiar faces can make boarding feel like coming home.

You’ll find me cheering on friends in Miss Behave, caught up in Scarlet Night, enjoying a long dinner or heading ashore with a camera and a loose plan. I share practical tips alongside the food, shows and small moments that make life aboard personal. I love Virgin, and I’ll still tell you when something doesn’t work for me.

On October 9, 2026, I reached my 50th tattoo at Squid Ink, Virgin’s onboard tattoo studio. That one was Batman. Earlier memories include a mushroom with Octogoddess tentacles, a whale called Rachel, and a sailor pig and rooster.

The ink tells stories about the ships, the shows, the friends and the artists who have become part of my life at sea. Some pieces are playful, others deeply personal. Together, they’ve become a way to carry those memories home, even when the next voyage is already booked.
